PROGRESSION

When I first posted the message below on Jun 28, 2009, some thought that it would be good. Others thought that it was a foolish idea and that I was thinking too much. I am not saying that I am a mastermind or the voice of the league. Nor am I trying to take total credit for the merger and other teams joining the Heartland Football league. I am just so happy that people can work together and agreed to come together to make this league bigger and better. I just had a simple idea that I wanted to put on everyone's mind. Thanks to all that listened and every player,owner, and coach that are involved with the HFL today. We all are the reason why the HFL is what is is today. LET US THINK ABOUT THE PAST, DWELL AND CONCENTRATE ON THE PRESENT AS WE PUSH HARD FOR THE FUTURE. LET'S GO.


HFL MERGING WITH GRASSROOTS FOOTBALL LEAGUE

I was wondering what is everyone's thoughts about the Heartland Football League merging with the Grassroots football. The Grassroots league has only seven teams which are still in 1 hour to 2.5 hours of most teams in the Heartland football league. The Heartland football team has had 3 teams go down unfortunately. 3 or 4 team from the Grassroots league can replace the teams that went down in the National Division, and the other 3 can join the American division.
Just to verify a few things I am in no way saying that the Heartland or Grassroots is not functioning very well. I just want to see this Semi-pro thing grow. Secondly We could have a little longer season.
It may be a stretch in some eyes, but in my eyes sacrifices can sometimes lead to bigger and better things in the future if you work hard for what you enjoy and what you believe in.

The merger was set up by a successful all star showing by both leagues. Here is a case where two leagues that have no egos are willing to sit down and make compromises. I had communications with a number of coaches/owners from the Grass Roots Football League when we decided to put an all star game together and both sides had minor demands and both sides were very willing to compromise for the good of the players. After a professionally ran all star game, both sides really knew that merging was a no brainier.

I definitely want to thank the Grass Roots Teams for trusting me and taking the leap of Faith with the HFL. They definitely helped to solidify the league.

Great job everyone involved. I like when you said," Here is a case where two leagues that have no egos are willing to sit down and make compromises. Thats what is most important. 2010 will be great year for the HFL and everyone involved.
